Meet Cindy, Healthy Transitions Program Coordinator, part of Humanim\u2019s Behavioral Health Department. Cindy is a mental health advocate, and has been part of Team Humanim since November 2019.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n As part of her role, Cindy works to assist youth ages 16 to 26 (whom she affectionately calls her \u201clittles\u201d) who have a severe mental health diagnosis, with self-sufficiency, independence, and to successfully transition into adulthood and integrate positively into the community.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201c[My favorite part of] this position is the freedom to explore goals the clients never dreamed they could achieve. It is intrinsically rewarding to see a client achieve and expand the goals they have set for themselves.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Cindy says she most values \u201cwhen a client comes to me and tells me they can tell I really care about them and their success, and they could not have seen themselves achieving some of their goals unless we had worked together.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Outside of work, Cindy enjoys spending time with her dogs, outdoor activities, music shows, roller coasters, traveling internationally, cooking, and socializing. She loves pasta and is a big fan of the former St. Louis Rams. <\/span><\/p>\n Her most unusual talent? Driving a car with a manual transmission! <\/span><\/p>\n A life experience (her \u201cmid-life crisis,\u201d she says) that gave her a different perspective was moving to Australia for 14 months in 2011 where she \u201clearned about myself, my potential, and the direction I wanted to steer my life.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n Cindy\u2019s personal words to live by are: \u201cStand up, stand strong, set the course, true to myself, live free, or die trying.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n Cindy says she \u201cworks daily to be a good person,\u201d and hopes to one day become a \u201crescue dog\/animal collector\u201d (for which she is already on her way toward).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Meet Cindy, Healthy Transitions Program Coordinator, part of Humanim\u2019s Behavioral Health Department.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":24707,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[62,61,33,16],"class_list":["post-24706","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news","tag-humansofhumanim","tag-teamhumanim","tag-behavioral-health","tag-human-services"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"\n
