This Autism Acceptance Month, we are proud to celebrate the accomplishments of Humanim participants who are growing their skills and building confidence as they prepare for rewarding futures.<\/p>\n
Meet Liam, a senior at Coppin Academy and a participant in Humanim\u2019s Work-Based Learning Experience. During his internship with our employer partner, CVS, Liam consistently impressed everyone he worked alongside through his commitment and positive attitude.<\/p>\n
Entering the internship, Liam set clear goals focused on customer service, merchandise handling, and using retail tools such as scanners. He not only met these goals but steadily expanded his responsibilities by assisting with inventory merchandising and organizing the sales floor. With each shift, his confidence and proficiency continued to grow as these tasks became second nature.<\/p>\n
Thanks to his kindness and strong work ethic, Liam made the most of his eight-week internship and became a trusted member of the CVS team. His coworkers were genuinely disappointed to see him leave at the end of the program. His supervisor, Christina, shared, \u201cLiam\u2019s a good kid. He came in on time and worked really hard.\u201d<\/p>\n
Humanim\u2019s Youth Transition Services Manager, Edward, echoed this praise, saying, \u201cLiam demonstrates an admirable work ethic that will open many doors for him in life. He works hard and I never have to worry about him since I know he\u2019s always giving it his all.\u201d<\/p>\n
Next school year, Liam will attend Baltimore City Community College to study computer information systems. In the future, he plans to become a developer for apps and video games and is interested in real estate as well!<\/p>\n
Through his time with CVS, he\u2019s learned the foundational skills required for his fields of interest such as teamwork, organization, professionalism, and much more! We are proud of Liam as he takes these important first steps toward achieving his ambitions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
