Henry Posko heads the nonprofit organization, which works to provide training and opportunities for people facing barriers to employment in the Baltimore region and in other East Coast cities<\/h2>\n

BALTIMORE<\/strong> – Henry Posko, President and CEO at Humanim, has been invited to the White House this Friday, April 17, to participate in the first-ever White House Tech Meetup<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The White House Tech Meetup builds on President Obama\u2019s focus on expanding opportunity for all Americans, including the TechHire Initiative<\/a> announced earlier this year. The exciting agenda for the day includes spotlight sessions on education, innovation, entrepreneurship, social change and economic development. TechHire aims to grow the United States\u2019 economy by helping to fill open jobs in the technology sector.<\/p>\n

At the same time, TechHire supports local employers to expand hiring practices to include individuals who have gone through these new alternative training programs.<\/p>\n

The goals of the Tech Meetup are a good fit with Humanim\u2019s mission, which is centered on creating economic opportunity for people facing barriers to employment.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt the Meetup, we\u2019ll be working to highlight best practices and to expand outreach and inclusion efforts, so that we can find ways to help more people thrive in technology careers, especially those who have been less well-represented in the field,\u201d Posko said. \u201cHere at Humanim, we have always been passionate about creating innovative solutions that solve social problems, and our focus on workforce development is unmatched. That\u2019s why I\u2019m thrilled to have been asked to participate in this event.
